I know someone who has told his children that the ice cream van only plays its tune to let everyone know that it's run out of ice cream. (Sorry had to delete first attempt due to missing apostrophe)

May I have a note please? Though having said that I live near the owner of an icecream van and he was still going out and playing his tinny tune in the depths of winter. Got to admire that.
