We've been watching a lot of Scandinavian police procedurals lately...
Prudence, Caution, Deliberation.
The Hermit points to all things hidden, such as knowledge and inspiration, hidden enemies. The illumination is from within, and retirement from participation in current events.
The Hermit is a card of introspection, analysis and, well, virginity. You do not desire to socialize; the card indicates, instead, a desire for peace and solitude. You prefer to take the time to think, organize, ruminate, take stock. There may be feelings of frustration and discontent but these feelings eventually lead to enlightenment, illumination, clarity.
The Hermit represents a wise, inspirational person, friend, teacher, therapist. This a person who can shine a light on things that were previously mysterious and confusing.
I must have been doing the cat's shoelaces
when this lot came a-calling.
What Tarot Card are You?

My favourite was the strange blonde police woman verging on autism. When told she should lighten up and converse with her colleagues she entered the station and informed them that 'today I started my period.'
;)
They all seem to verge on autism, it's quite odd how distant they all are with themselves.
Who are these people? Anyway, I'd always assumed that they didn't have crime in Scandinavia....
Gritty Scandinavian detective series are all the rage on our tellies at the moment. They're really good but unlike most subtitled programmes where you can start to pick out key phrases in the original language all you ever hear is a low rolling thunder punctuated by the occasional word in English. It comes as a relief when somebody speaks in Russian or Estonian.
Hmm, interesting. If they're in Danish then you'll never be able to pick out any words at all; in Swedish one might hope to recognise 'ombudsman' or 'IKEA'. How 'gritty' does it get in downtown Oslo?
