I have a red-and-white tie. It is a rather fetching red-and-black tie and I like it very much. Unfortunately, it doesn't go with any of my shirts. It doesn't even go with black or white shirts...

I find ties a great problem and spend hours trying to choose the right one for MTL's ensemble.
He, of course, couldn't care less.
i have no idea of your chronological age, darling, but sartorially, you sound as if a soft grey shirt combined with the red&black tie would work rather well. by the by, you could always use the MITM favorite tack, he takes "gift ties" to the men's store and finds a shirt that looks good with it there and buys it! xoxoxo

Savannah: I had to give up grey after I noticed that my hair and face were the same colour as my clerical greys.
(It can't only be me and the MITM who buys shirts to match their ties, can it?)
Libby: it's the devil's own job these days to find a tie that doesn't automatically tie into a footballer's knot. :-(
