On the bus on the way home I've kept noticing that there's a blue plaque on a housing block near the traffic lights. I've often wondered what it was for. Today we were stuck in a traffic jam just beside it so I could have a read.
I'm irrationally pleased that it's in honour of Terry Hall and Lenny the Lion.

Hurray for Terry and Lenny!!!
Well, you shouldn't feel irrational or even "embawassed" at such pleasure.
I was hoping it would be that Catholic writer of the last century - you know who I mean. He was into Catholicism and divorce. MTL can't remember either.
Not Graham Greene. Oh bother!
Orange. Clockwork Orange. Anthony Burgess. Hurray!
I wonder if Keith Harris's Orville gets jealous about this sort of thing.
That takes me back!
I wonder if Terry Hall is put out at sharing with Lenny or whether Lenny is bothered that he isn't top billing? A very difficult situation for the council to handle. They would be very pleased to have brought about your pleasure - sort of thing worth writing to the local paper about.
I thought you had to be dead to get a blue plaque? RIP Terry the Lion and Lenny Hall
Hurray, but what about Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop?
i had to goggle them, sugar! how delightful they have a plaque! xoxoxo
@MdF...i had no idea shari lewis & lampchop made it across the pond, darlin! i loved lambchop's voice! xoxoo
Sweet! I can just about remember Lenny the lion from my English childhood; I think mostly because I had an uncle called Len.
I had forgotten he had ever existed until this moment :)
Yay!
Pat: Lenny the Lion trumps Anthony Burgess any day of the week. (-:
Gadjo: you have to be dead (or a member of the MCC) to be eligible a blue plaque these days.
Kelloggsville: hello and welcome!
NotaBene: Terry Hall died three years ago, sadly.
Madame DeF: I hadn't realised that Shari Lewis had passed on so long ago. Another childhood crush...
Savannah: this is an educational blog (-:
