My kettle died tonight, suddenly, at home. It will be sadly missed.
A boon companion, helpmeet and Trojan pillar of support in times of darkness and calamity, my kettle leaves behind a teapot full of tea leaves and a blown fuse in the kitchen worktop.
Its like will not be seen again until I get to the shops on the way home tomorrow.

I know how you feel my friend. Earlier this evening I dropped a vodka bottle which still contained at least a glass and a half.
I feel as though I've lost yet another friend.
It has gone to appliance heaven to be with my iron.
Sx
Could you open a bottle of whisky to replace the kettle?
Ooh Scarlet your iron and Kevs kettle, what would they reproduce - Flat Tea?
This is making me fill up more than when I heard about Michael Jackson.
Your kettle, Scarlet-Blue's iron and my tumble dryer. I hope they're all happy together.
Actually, I don't. I'm cross with my tumble dryer for breaking down.
How will you manage until your new kettle appears?
Choose with care - some of those new kettles are just too full of themselves.
Thank you friends for those kinds words.
I couldn't escape work in time to nip out and buy a kettle so I'm in day two without a proper cup of tea. I'm trying to cope.
