Prudence, Caution, Deliberation.
The Hermit points to all things hidden, such as knowledge and inspiration, hidden enemies. The illumination is from within, and retirement from participation in current events.
The Hermit is a card of introspection, analysis and, well, virginity. You do not desire to socialize; the card indicates, instead, a desire for peace and solitude. You prefer to take the time to think, organize, ruminate, take stock. There may be feelings of frustration and discontent but these feelings eventually lead to enlightenment, illumination, clarity.
The Hermit represents a wise, inspirational person, friend, teacher, therapist. This a person who can shine a light on things that were previously mysterious and confusing.
I must have been doing the cat's shoelaces
when this lot came a-calling.

Strangely enough a few days ago I showed this very clip to some of my American co-workers at the Sauna.
I love this sketch... but I've never seen pantyhose being sold in a hardware store!!!
Sx
I'm offline at the moment (I'm cybersquatting for half an hour while I'm waiting for a dinner date), which is why I'm quiet this week. (Bloody Virgin Media!)
Scarlet: The Major will confirm that the north of England has hardware shops that sell no end of ladies' prerequisites.
Scarlet: He's right, y'know. I have seen these very emporia (not to be confused with the town of Emporia in Kansas) myself. I've also seen Emporia, KS - it was shut.
Didn't we go to Emporia? And it was shut.
We've been to several places that were shut. Some of them were in Wales. :-)
